I am currently in my second year studying a Bachelor of Music degree at the Stellenbosch Conservatorium for Music since 2013. As a musician, I have been playing the violin for 12 years, as well as the piano for 11 years. These are both instruments I practice within my current BMus course. Singing is also a long term skill I cultivate. I am currently taking part in the Stellenbosch University Jazz Band as one of the lead vocalists since the beginning of my course. I had my first compositional experiences at Somerset College High School, entering their annual “Opus Campus” competition in grade 12. At Stellenbosch Conservatorium I am under the compositional pedagogy of renowned South African composer Hans Roosenschoon, who has featured a great deal in introducing the wider scope of composition to me this year. It is in this realm that I have discovered a place that I enjoy dwelling in. I have been blessed with this God given gift of composing and I intend to do magnificent things in pursuit thereof for the rest of my course and beyond.
